{Fit Friday}

With summer coming to an end I can definitely feel myself gradually getting lazier in the gym & in the kitchen. BIG mistake. After a summer full of running, bleachers, Crossfit and eating clean I have lost the 10lbs I gained when I got pregnant last year (ended in a miscarriage at 3 months) and I REFUSE to gain it back. Kyle and I are going to Hawaii in the beginning of October so I only have about a month, serious results can happen in that time though! My next goal is to lose another 10lbs and get down to 25% body fat. Today, I just needed a little motivation, here are a couple of favorites I found while browsing Pinterest...
I would say my biggest downfalls are not drinking enough water and not eating enough daily calories so these clips definitely jumped out at me. And I don't want to only lose weight...I want to be fit and healthy, NOT stick skinny. I just have to remember it's all mental and my only competition is myself....and I really want to win! Here's to a FIT FALL! xo Kelsey

{Homemade Mocha Latte}

In an effort to save more and spend less my husband and I decided it was time to cut back on a LOT of unnecessary luxuries....including once daily Starbucks for each of us. As hard as it may be to break a certain habit it makes it way easier when you notice more money than usual in your bank account ;) Since I work from home I have had time to different iced coffee recipes to compensate for our "no Starbucks" rule and today I think I finally came up with one that will make this change a lot easier!

{Ingredients}

Freshly brewed coffee
Unsweetened almond (or soy) milk
1 packet of hot chocolate
Whipped topping
Ice
A dash of cinnamon
Hazelnut coffee creamer (not pictured)

After adding the packet of hot chocolate to the hot coffee I let it cool in the fridge for a few min before I got impatient and then added the ice & almond milk. After tasting that it wasn't sweet enough for me so I decided to add a little bit of my hazelnut coffee creamer...so good! Add any flavor you like, for fall I will use pumpkin spice creamer, obviously ;) I then put it in my Starbucks cup with ice, added whipped topping, a dash of cinnamon and of course, a cute straw! Enjoy!

{DIY Glitter-Heart Bouquet}

For a recent engagement shoot of mine I was trying to think of a creative way to add some romance and glitter without going too far as my bride requested traditional engagement photos. I am in love with styled shoots and just adding a simple DIY bouquet to a traditional shoot makes it a little more memorable. I designed this bouquet using leftover flowers from a store-bought bouquet my husband gave me last week and I added some handmade gold glitter hearts...it turned out exactly how I pictured! I had all of the supplies at home already so that made it easy. If you're not a hoarder like I am then you can find all supplies at Michaels. Hope you love it!

{Fit Friday}

With a double header wedding weekend ahead of me and absolutely NO energy thanks to editing until all hours of the night (and watching Orange is the New Black, of course,) I had to think of something to get my day started. I love to run and do crossfit but some days I just don't have time to leave the house. These yoga moves are great to wake your body up and give you some quick energy! I think I'll start doing these every morning.

{Rachel + Taylor Anniversary Shoot}

2 years ago I met Rachel and Taylor when I did their engagement photos. I am so blessed that we became friends and I was able to shoot their anniversary photos for them before they move to Kansas. They are 2 amazing people and I'm so excited for their next journey together!

I'm going to miss you guys!

{The Office}

When I was little I can remember wanting to grow up so bad just so I could have my own house to decorate and my own office. I didn't really know what I'd do in my office yet but I totally wanted one! At 21 my husband and I bought our first home and I claimed the "den" area to be my photography office/studio...you wouldn't believe how excited I was to have my own space to work, since it's all I seem to do. Plus it's the only space in the house that Kyle doesn't have control over how I decorate it...he's very opinionated when it comes to interior (and exterior) design, it's annoying. Here is a quick tour of one of my many happy places and my favorite room in our house...aside from the kitchen...where the food is.

This place has most of my favorite things it in, and it makes 1,133,456 hours of editing a day MUCH easier ;) 99% of my office is DIY and didn't cost much at all...just took some time and creativity. Each piece of furniture was given to me by my amazing family and I refurbished them to make them more my style. The DIY pallet bed is perfect when my back starts to hurt from sitting at my desk. I have an obvious addiction to stationary, I LOVE cards, journals, notebooks, and anything else made out of paper...don't ask me why. The picture frame wall and most artwork in the frames were also DIY and cost me about $5...gold spray paint is my BFF.

Thank you for allowing me to share my space with you. I hope it will inspire some of you to make the most of what you’ve got…even if it’s a corner in your house and everything you own is someone else's old crap ;) Sometimes I think that makes a piece even more special...use your creativity, be proud of your work and remember that everyone starts somewhere!
